Winter Guard

Winter Guard is competitive indoor color guard combining dance and movement with equipment to bring music to life!

Winter Guard combines the use of recorded music with dance, choreography, and creative props with color guard equipment (flags, rifles, sabers, etc.) into unique energetic, expressive performances.

Winter Guard is not dissimilar from sports like Rhythmic Gymnastics or Synchronized Swimming — artistic and athletic — striving for precision in their technique and putting on crowd-pleasing performances.

The Bloomfield Hills High School Winter Guard Team competes regionally in events sponsored by the Michigan Color Guard Circuit (MCGC), which is a partner of Winter Guard International (WGI).

This is an extra-curricular activity, but requires dedication and commitment. Auditions are conducted to assess the skill level of each potential member and to develop programs that showcase a wide range of individual and group talents.
