Welcome, we're glad you're here!

The Boosters is the all-volunteer organization for Band & Orchestra family members. We make the wide variety of instrumental music programs and experiences possible — through financial support, encouragement, planning and organizing, and doing the work that needs to be done.

What does BBOB do?

  • Coordinate with the Directors

  • Encourage interest in the instrumental music program

  • Volunteer the person-power for program activities

  • Support opportunities for students to perform

  • Build wider community support for the program

  • Enrich student experiences through extra curricular activities

Who should join BBOB?

BBOB is a non-profit organization open to all supporters of the BHHS Instrumental Music program and families are strongly encouraged to join. Monies collected are used to support activities and purchase equipment for the benefit of the instrumental music program. A graduated fee scale is available and all membership fees/donations are tax-deductible.

Who's on the Executive Board?

    2025–2026
  • President – Mike Morgan

  • Vice President – Jim Baker

  • Treasurer – Vanessa Gaunt

  • Secretary – Joann Socha

  • Band Camp Coordinator – Becky Fitzpatrick

When are the meetings?

BBOB meets monthly, usually the first Monday of the month, both via Zoom and in person in the band room. The Band and Orchestra Directors and parents discuss all band and orchestra activities, fundraisers, questions and concerns. Many decisions affecting the band and orchestra are made at these meetings. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

When I join or donate, where does the money go?

  • Purchase instruments

  • Assist the school in maintaining very expensive instruments

  • Support students who cannot afford school-based music activities

  • Bring in instrumental clinicians

  • Supplement the budget for commissioned works

  • Showcase student performances within the community

  • Maintain concert and marching band uniforms

Is there a difference in membership levels?

There’s no difference between the options in terms of membership benefits. We work to make our membership accessible to all. Because this is how we raise much of the funds for everything we do, we just ask that people join at the highest level they can.

Ways to get involved...

There are many ways to get involved in BBOB throughout the year and they vary by time commitment and time of year. If you want to help but aren't sure how, reach out to us. We'll find something that fits your schedule and skill set. Thank you!

All-Year Activities

Event Photographer

Attend events, take high quality photographs that can be used to promote our programs, and create and manage an organized archive.

Grant Writing

Work with Directors to aid in obtaining grants for various instrumental music needs. You don't need to have experience, just the willingness to learn.

Hospitality

Organize refreshments for concerts and events throughout the year. Manage a committee and recruit volunteers to provide the refreshments.

Fundraising

Come up with ideas for fundraisers. Plan, organize, recruit volunteers, manage communication, and follow up as needed.

Fall Activities

Marching Band Uniforms

Coordinate the distribution, collection, sorting, and dry cleaning of Marching Band uniforms. Uniforms are distributed in August and collected after the last football game. The uniforms are then sent to the dry cleaners, sorted when they are returned, and put away for next season.

Concessions

Coordinate all activity for the concession stand we run during Home football games, MSBOA Festival, and possibly other events. This includes purchasing and selling food items, and staffing (with volunteers). Dates are typically football season (August–October) plus some days in March for Festival.

Marching Band Shoes

Arrange the online store for ordering Marching Band shoes. Sort and distribute the new and used shoes. This happens at the beginning of Marching Band season.

MB Field Help

Be present prior to home football games and MSBOA Festival to help out, handle uniform emergencies and any other issues that may arise.

Concert Uniforms

Work with the Choir Boosters to coordinate the distribution, collection, sorting, and dry cleaning of concert uniforms (tuxes and dresses) for all Band and Orchestra students. Sorting and distribution is done in August before the beginning of the school year. Collection is done at the end of the school year after final ensemble performances. Uniforms are sent to the dry cleaners at the end of the school year, then put away for the next year.

MSBOA Festival – MB

Coordinate MSBOA District Marching Band Festival held in October. Work with the Band Director to plan, organize & oversee volunteers and prepare needed materials. Must be available the day of the festival.
