Jazz Bands
About our Jazz Bands
Our Jazz bands, which are open to all students in 9th–12th grades, provide an opportunity to learn about, rehearse, and perform contemporary jazz music.
The BHHS Jazz bands are a for credit music opportunity and appear as a 4.0 for every semester. This is a 0 hour class, taken before and/or after school. In order to participate, students must also be members of another curricular music ensemble.
Jazz Lab
This is our developing jazz group for students of all grade levels and abilities. Any student on any instrument is welcome to join this ensemble. No audition is necessary.
Jazz Ensemble
This is a more traditional group for students with a bit more skill. It features all the standard Jazz instruments: saxophone, trombone, trumpet, piano, bass, drums, and guitar. Students audition for this ensemble.
Combos
There are additional opportunities — such as smaller combos with different mixes of instruments. Ask the director if interested.
